Freeholder William F. Moen, Jr.
520 Market Street 8th Floor
Camden, NJ 08102
William Moen, Jr. has committed much of his adult life to serving the communities that allowed him the opportunity to pursue his dreams.
Bill, at age 28, was first elected to the Camden County Board of Chosen Freeholders in November 2015. Taking office in January 2016, Moen became one of the youngest freeholders in the State of New Jersey.
He serves as the Southern New Jersey Director for United States Sen. Cory A. Booker, providing outreach to the state's southern counties and managing the Senator's office in Camden City. He previously served as a legislative aide in New Jersey’s Fifth District, helping draft public policy initiatives at the state level.
A first generation college graduate, Moen earned a Masters degree in Public Administration from the Fels School of Government at the University of Pennsylvania and received a Bachelors degree in Political Science from Rowan University in Glassboro, New Jersey.
Moen’s interest in such community-based initiatives, coupled with his enterprising spirit and determination to see a project through, has continued through his work in government and politics. In his previous role with the State Legislature, Bill developed the state law to require a social media education curriculum be taught in the state's public schools and New Jersey's first bill to bring social-impact bonds to the state.
A lifelong resident of Camden County who was raised in Runnemede, Moen understands the importance of positive community figures and service to the community. While a teenager, he was member of a flag football team from his home town that represented the United States in Berlin, Germany, and ultimately brought home a world championship. Today he gives back by volunteering as a little league baseball coach in Camden City and serving as a board member of the Rowan University Alumni Association. The grandson of two World War II veterans and the son of a Vietnam veteran, Moen also serves as Senior Vice-President of the Runnemede VFW Men’s Auxiliary, which is comprised of relatives of war veterans.
For his service to the community, Bill was awarded the 2014 Humanitarian of the Year Award by the Volunteer Center of South Jersey.
Today, Moen resides in Camden City, a city where generations of his family were born and raised.
