Camden County Correctional Officer Application Workshop

This event includes an Application Workshop, PT Assessment, and On-the-Spot Interviews, giving you the opportunity to jumpstart your career in law enforcement.

Position Details

  • Salary: $55,000–$110,000 per year

Physical Test Requirements

  • Vertical Jump: 12.5 inches
  • 1-Minute Sit-Ups: 22 repetitions
  • 300-Meter Run: 84 seconds or less
  • 1-Minute Push-Ups: 19 repetitions
  • 1.5-Mile Run: 19:00 minutes or less

Virtual Patrols, traffic control, and community service are a few examples of the important work provided by SLEO I Officers. Part-time schedules offer flexibility for continued education. Starting as an SLEO I can provide an entry-level path to a full-time police career.

OPTION 2 – SLEO II

SLEO II Law Enforcement Officers play a key role in our mission to keep our community safe. SLEO II Officers have full police authority and work side-by-side with our full-time police officers, patrolling neighborhoods by foot, bike, and car. New changes to the civil service laws now provide an alternative path to becoming a full-time police officer without taking the entry-level examination.

Academy = $32,035.00
 Training Period = $47,000.00
Post-Training = $51,817.50

County Correctional Police Officer

Job Requirements
• Must have High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Minimum of 18 years of age
• Must possess valid New Jersey driver’s license (May be required to possess a valid Commercial Driver’s License for type of vehicle being operated)
• Must be a citizen of the United States
• Candidates must have successfully completed a police training course approved by the New Jersey Police Training Commission. Training is 19 weeks, M-F from 7am – 3pm in Blackwood.
• Candidates must be required to pass a medical and psychological exam

Juvenile Detention Officer

Under general direction of a supervisory employee during an assigned tour of duty, controls the general conduct and behavior of juvenile residents, the maintenance of discipline, and custodial, recreational, transportation, and housekeeping functions; does other related duties as required.

The Camden County Juvenile Detention Center is the county’s pre-trial juvenile detention center. Located on the county’s Lakeland Campus outside Blackwood,
New Jersey. We resolve to provide the residents of the
Camden County Juvenile Detention Center with the best possible care while they are in our custody.

Job Requirements
• Graduation from High School or Vocational School or possess an approved High School equivalency certificate
• Must possess valid New Jersey driver’s license if operation of a vehicle is necessary to perform essential duties
• Must be a citizen of the United States
•Appointees will be required to successfully complete a training program approved by the New Jersey Police Training Commission within the time period prescribed by law or the New Jersey Police Training Commission.
