Mary Eva Colalillo was appointed Camden County Prosecutor by Governor Chris Christie in June 2014. She came to the Prosecutor’s Office after 21 years as a judge in Superior Court of Camden County, serving in the Family, Criminal, Equity and Civil divisions. The Prosecutor was Presiding Judge in the Civil Division from 2005 to 2007, followed by a term as Presiding Judge in General Equity from 2007 to 2014, where she was responsible for Chancery and probate matters. Ms. Colalillo had extensive experience as a litigator before being appointed to the bench in 1993. That included working from 1980 to 1984 as an Assistant Prosecutor with the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office and eight years of private practice, from 1984 to 1992, during which she developed an expertise in civil cases ranging from personal injury work and insurance coverage to malpractice cases. She served as First Assistant Camden County Counsel from 1992 to 1993. The Prosecutor graduated from Georgian Court College with a Bachelor’s degree in 1973 and received her Juris Doctor in 1976 from Vermont Law School. She is a certified criminal trial attorney in New Jersey and is a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association and Camden County Bar Association.
