About Planning Department

The Planning Department oversees master planning in Camden County. These area plans provide policy planning in the traditional and important planning areas of land use, project planning, environmental, transportation, open space, and historic recommendations.

The goal for the Camden County community is to strengthen local planning by promoting County Planning’s professional services in master plans, zoning, project management and program administration. Our regional goals are to identify and lead innovative planning projects and initiatives to address issues of mutual concern to the County and its 36 municipalities. The future goal is to promote and encourage the use of best practices in all areas of land use, transportation, and economic development.

The Planning Department also oversees the Camden County Planning Board, the Board consists of seven members and are responsible for reviewing proposed development projects and making decisions on them in accordance with state statutes and local bylaws and regulations.
