Roadway Safety Improvements: Evesham Road (CR 544) and White Horse Road (CR 673)

BACKGROUND

For this project, Camden County is using funds from the Federal Highway Administration that are administered by New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT), Bureau of Local Aid and Economic Development. The project evaluated 12 sites for guiderail improvements. 10 of the sites had existing guiderail installations and 2 sites with no existing guiderail. Each site was analyzed to determine if guiderail was warranted, and the existing installations were compared to the current guiderail standards.

PROPOSED GUIDERAIL IMPROVEMENTS

The primary project purpose is to bring certain existing guiderail systems into compliance with current standards or install new guiderail systems where warranted along Evesham Road (CR544) in Cherry Hill and Voorhees Townships, and White Horse Road (CR673) in Voorhees Township. The design took into consideration the need to avoid requiring individual regulatory permits, avoid additional right-of-way and minimize utility relocations.
