Ten New COVID-19 Caused Deaths Announced in Camden County

(Gloucester Township, NJ) – The Camden County Department of Health is announcing 10 new deaths caused by novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in Camden County, as well as 43 additional confirmed cases of the disease. This brings the aggregate number of confirmed positive cases to 3,750 in Camden County today and 207 total fatalities. 

These deaths occurred between April 28 and May 2. The following information is currently available regarding these most recent deaths in Camden County:

 

Case 1: Male, 70s, Voorhees

Case 2: Female, 80s, Cherry Hill

Case 3: Male, 90s, Cherry Hill

Case 4: Female, 100s, Barrington

Case 5: Male, 60s, Runnemede

Case 6: Male, 90s, Merchantville

Case 7: Female, 80s, Cherry Hill

Case 8: Female, 70s, Pine Hill

Case 9: Female, 80s, Voorhees

Case 10: Female, 60s, Cherry Hill

 

“It is with great sadness that we announce ten additional deaths caused by coronavirus in Camden County this evening. Today, our total number of fatalities exceeds 200 for the first time since this pandemic began. I ask that the entire community reflect on those we have lost and keep them in your thoughts and prayers as we continue to navigate this crisis,” said Freeholder Director Louis Cappelli, Jr. “Today, the New Jersey Department of Health released a troubling public service announcement regarding the number of state residents who have suffered heart attacks and other treatable ailments because they feared going to the hospital or emergency room. I want to assure our residents that the health care systems in Camden County and throughout New Jersey are safe and prepared to safely provide the care that you need.”

The Department of Health is announcing 43 additional positive cases of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) identified in Camden County. Trace investigations are being facilitated with the patients and remain ongoing.

In addition, the county Department of Health is also announcing 997 confirmed cases have occurred out of the aggregate case load of 3,750 in our 56 long-term care facilities. At this current time 156 deaths have been reported from these facilities out of our 207 total fatalities countywide.
