(Camden, NJ) – Following an extensive investigation, the Camden County Police Department has identified and arrested the driver involved in a fatal hit-and-run crash with a motorcycle late last month.
Joseph Robinson, 61, of Camden, was arrested Tuesday on the 1500 block of Norris Street by members of the Camden County Police Department and U.S. Marshals Regional Fugitive Task Force. Robinson was identified by detectives as the driver of a car that struck a motorcycle on the afternoon of Tuesday, Aug. 30, at the corner of Mount Ephraim and Sayres avenues. The impact caused the death of the motorcycle operator while Robinson fled from the scene in his vehicle.
Robinson is charged with Leaving the Scene of a Motor Vehicle Accident Resulting in Death, 2nd Degree, and was remanded to the Camden County Jail.
“I would like to commend our detectives and the members of the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force who worked hard to gather evidence that led to the identification of this suspect, and then to ensure that he was arrested without incident,” said Chief Gabe Rodriguez.
