Six New COVID-19 Caused Deaths Announced in Camden County

(Gloucester Township, NJ) – The Camden County Department of Health (DOH) is announcing six new deaths caused by novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in Camden County, as well as 39 additional cases of the disease. This brings the aggregate number of confirmed positive cases to 7,793 in Camden County and 464 total fatalities.

The following information is currently available regarding these most recent deaths in Camden County:

“It is with great sadness that we announce six additional deaths caused by COVID-19 in our community. Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families during these terribly challenging times,” said Freeholder Director Louis Cappelli, Jr. “This pandemic is not over, the threat has not been eradicated, and our mission has not been accomplished. The United States is once again breaking its own records for new cases each day. While New Jersey has been on a more positive trajectory, we must remember that this is because of our mitigation strategies, such as wearing masks and social distancing, not in spite of them. We have to adhere to these guidelines strictly if we are going to prevent further loss of life and sickness in our community.”

The Department of Health is announcing 39 additional positive cases of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) identified in Camden County. Trace investigations are being facilitated with the patients and remain ongoing.

In addition, the county Department of Health is also announcing 1,303 confirmed resident cases and 473 staff cases have occurred out of the aggregate case load of 7,793 in our 56 long-term care facilities. At this time, 299 resident deaths have been reported from these facilities, as well as three staff deaths, out of our 464 total fatalities countywide.
