(Lindenwold, NJ) – Freeholder Susan Shin Angulo, liaison to the Camden County Department of Public Works, has been notified by NJ American Water that crews will be installing a water main this week on River Road in Camden. Beginning on Monday, Oct. 15, crews will close partial or full lanes between Moro Street and 19th Street.

“Motorists driving through the area can expect additional traffic, sudden stops and possible congestion while crews are at work,” Shin Angulo said. “Until construction is completed, motorists should try to plan around the area and take extra caution when driving through the construction zone.”

Beginning Monday, crews will be on site alternating traffic between East State Street and Moro Street from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. On Tuesday, crews will close a single lane along the same stretch of River Road from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

On Wednesday to Friday, Oct. 19, the entire intersection of River Road and State Street will close from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Motorists will be directed along a posted detour route utilizing Federal, 10th, and East State Streets. The intersection will re-open each night.

This project is expected to be completed on Friday, Oct. 19. Scheduling and project timing is also dependent on weather and may be adjusted due to unforeseen events.
