(Lindenwold, NJ) – Freeholder Susan Shin Angulo, liaison to the Camden County Department of Public Works, has been notified by PSE&G that it will be repairing a gas leak at 6058 Westfield Avenue in Pennsauken beginning tomorrow, Aug. 15, requiring a partial closure of the roadway.
“This is not an emergency repair, but it will require the partial closure of the roadway at different times as crews remedy the leak,” Shin Angulo said. “Motorists should be aware that this closure will likely slow traffic and affect their commuting time in the area. Residents in the area are reminded never to investigate suspected gas leaks themselves, and to report any problems directly to PSE&G.”
Crews will be active between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. During this time, there will be one of two closures in effect. For part of the project, there will be a partial closure of Westfield Avenue westbound between Cove Road and Norwood Avenue. For the remainder of the project, there will be a partial eastbound closure along the same stretch.
Repairs are anticipated to be completed by the end of work hours on Friday, Aug. 16. Scheduling is subject to change due to weather or other unforeseen events.
PSE&G reminds customers to exit a building any time they believe they smell gas, to stand at least 350 feet away, and to report the problem by calling 1-800-880-PSEG (7734).
