(Lindenwold, NJ) – Freeholder Barbara Holcomb, liaison to the Department of Public Works, has been notified by Public Service Gas and Electric Company (PSE&G) that crews will be conducting paving restoration at 135 North Centre Street in Merchantville on Thursday, May 14, beginning at 9 a.m. The project is expected to require the full closure of Centre Street between East Walnut Street and East Cedar Street.
“As the spring season begins in earnest, we will be seeing the resumption of many roads projects throughout the county,” Holcomb said. “Please remember to always plan your route in advance, and take into consideration how closures and detours may affect your commute. Anytime you travel through a construction area, be alert for sudden stops, construction vehicles, and debris that may end up in the roadway.
Beginning at 9 a.m. on Thursday, May 14, crews will close Centre Street between East Walnut Street and East Cedar Street to all traffic. Motorists will be directed along a posted detour route utilizing Cove Road and Park Avenue to circumvent the construction area.
This project is scheduled to be completed by 3 p.m. on Thursday, May 14. Scheduling and project timing is dependent on weather and may be adjusted due to unforeseen events.
