One New COVID-19 Caused Death Announced in Camden County

(Gloucester Township, NJ) – The Camden County Department of Health (DOH) is announcing one new death caused by novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in Camden County, as well as 44 additional cases of the disease. This brings the aggregate number of confirmed positive cases to 11,887 in Camden County and 567 total fatalities.

 

The following information is currently available regarding these most recent deaths in Camden County:

 

New Case 1:   MALE,   80s,   VOORHEES  

 

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the victim and his family, and we are wishing all those battling this virus a fast and full recovery,” said Freeholder Director Louis Cappelli, Jr. “With so much uncertainty ahead, remember that you can help to control how the spread of this virus speeds or slows. Wear a mask, social distance, avoid indoor gatherings, and work with our contact tracing team when they call. Taking these simple steps will help us to avoid a crisis at the scale of what we faced in the spring and get us through the coming months with a much smaller impact.”

                                                                    

The Department of Health is announcing 44 additional positive cases of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) identified in Camden County. Trace investigations are being facilitated with the patients and remain ongoing.

 

In addition, the county Department of Health is also announcing 1,541 confirmed resident cases and 645 staff cases have occurred out of the aggregate case load of 11,887 in our 56 long-term care facilities. At this time, 341 resident deaths have been reported from these facilities, as well as three staff deaths, out of our 567 total fatalities countywide.

The county Health Department is currently working to trace close contacts of these newest cases. The investigations are still ongoing, and we will update the public with new developments as the information is gathered by our investigators.
