(Lindenwold, NJ) – Camden County Freeholder Susan Shin Angulo has been informed by the New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) of the temporary closure this weekend of three out of the five lanes on I-76 westbound near the Walt Whitman Bridge for emergency repairs in Gloucester City, Camden County.
Beginning at 10 a.m. tomorrow, Friday, May 11 until 5 a.m., Monday, May 14, NJDOT will close two out of the five lanes on I-76 westbound between Route 130 and Klemm Avenue to make repairs to a severely deteriorated underground metal pipe which resulted in a sinkhole. Beginning at 8 p.m., Friday, May 11 until 5 a.m., Monday, May 14, NJDOT will close a third lane. At least two lanes will be maintained during the emergency construction.
Motorists are advised to use alternate routes and expect delays in the area. All lanes will be open before 5 a.m. Monday, May 14.
Dynamic Message Signs will provide advance notification to motorists of traffic pattern changes associated with the work. The precise timing of the work is subject to change due to weather or other factors.
