New COVID-19 Cases Announced in Camden County

(Gloucester Township, NJ) – The Camden County Department of Health is announcing 53 additional confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in Camden County. This brings the aggregate number of confirmed positive cases to 11,007 in Camden County today and 559 total fatalities. 

 

“With today’s newest cases, we have reached an unfortunate milestone as we eclipse 11,000 cases in Camden County. We are continuing to wish everyone a fast and full recovery, and our thoughts and prayers are with everyone affected by this terrible disease,” said Freeholder Director Louis Cappelli, Jr. “We need to double down on our efforts to fight this pandemic. We have now seen more than 50 new cases in three of the last six days. Now is the time to begin reducing your exposures and taking additional precautions. Do not wait until we are in the middle of a second spike to take this virus seriously.”

 

The Department of Health is announcing 53 additional positive cases of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) identified in Camden County. Trace investigations are being facilitated with the patients and remain ongoing.

 

In addition, the county Department of Health is also announcing 1,469 confirmed resident cases and 609 staff cases have occurred out of the aggregate case load of 11,007 in our 56 long-term care facilities. At this time, 328 resident deaths have been reported from these facilities, as well as three staff deaths, out of our 559 total fatalities countywide.

The county Health Department is currently working to trace close contacts of these newest cases. The investigations are still ongoing, and we will update the public with new developments as the information is gathered by our investigators.
