(Gloucester Township, NJ) – The Camden County Department of Health is announcing 96 additional confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) confirmed between Saturday, Aug. 15, and Monday, Aug. 17. This brings the aggregate number of confirmed positive cases to 9,430 in Camden County today and 551 total fatalities.

“We are wishing for speedy recoveries for each of the residents battling this insidious disease in Camden County today,” said Freeholder Director Louis Cappelli, Jr. “Our residents have done an incredible job fighting the spread of coronavirus, but I know how hard it is to put normal life on hold month after month. The truth is that we don’t know how long this fight will last, but we know it will be shorter if we remain committed to the principles that brought New Jersey back from one of the worst outbreaks in the country. Wear a mask, social distance, and work with contact tracers when they call. If we work together, we will get through this stronger than we have ever been.”

The Department of Health is announcing 96 additional positive cases of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) identified in Camden County. Trace investigations are being facilitated with the patients and remain ongoing.

In addition, the county Department of Health is also announcing 1,342 confirmed resident cases and 531 staff cases have occurred out of the aggregate case load of 9,430 in our 56 long-term care facilities.
