New COVID-19 Cases Announced in Camden County

(Gloucester Township, NJ) – The Camden County Department of Health is announcing 55 additional confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in Camden County. This brings the aggregate number of confirmed positive cases to 48,616 in Camden County today and 1,187 total fatalities. 

 

“We are continuing to see far fewer new cases of COVID-19 as a result of increasing vaccinations and outdoor activity,” said County Commissioner Director Louis Cappelli, Jr. “Increasing the number of vaccinated persons in our community is our only way to truly end this pandemic and rid ourselves of this virus. If you haven’t been vaccinated yet, now is the time to head to one of our sites, or another provider in your community, and get protected.”

 

The Department of Health is announcing 55 additional positive cases of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) identified in Camden County. Trace investigations are being facilitated with the patients and remain ongoing.

 

To date, 431,591 COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered in Camden County. There are 246,434 people with at least one vaccine dose, and 203,217 people who are fully vaccinated.

In addition, the county Department of Health is also announcing 2,354 confirmed resident cases and 1,379 staff cases have occurred out of the aggregate case load of 48,616 in our 56 long-term care facilities. At this time, 461 resident deaths have been reported from these facilities, as well as seven staff deaths, out of our 1,187 total fatalities countywide.

 

The county Health Department is currently working to trace close contacts of these newest cases. The investigations are still ongoing, and we will update the public with new developments as the information is gathered by our investigators.
