New COVID-19 Cases Announced in Camden County

(Gloucester Township, NJ) – The Camden County Department of Health is announcing 112 additional confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in Camden County. This brings the aggregate number of confirmed positive cases to 44,349 in Camden County today and 1,135 total fatalities. 

 

“While our vaccine rollout is continuing at an unprecedented pace, we cannot lose sight of the hundreds of Camden County residents continuing to test positive every day,” said County Commissioner Director Louis Cappelli, Jr. “COVID-19 still poses a significant threat to the health of most of our community. We cannot afford to take our foot off the gas or return to normal until a much greater share of the population is vaccinated. Whether you are vaccinated or still waiting for your chance, please continue to wear a mask, social distance, and do everything in your power to protect those around you.”

 

The Department of Health is announcing 112 additional positive cases of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) identified in Camden County. Trace investigations are being facilitated with the patients and remain ongoing.

 

To date, 291,316 COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered in Camden County. There are 181,590 people with at least one vaccine dose, and 118,282 people who are fully vaccinated.

In addition, the county Department of Health is also announcing 2,330 confirmed resident cases and 1,346 staff cases have occurred out of the aggregate case load of 44,349 in our 56 long-term care facilities. At this time, 461 resident deaths have been reported from these facilities, as well as seven staff deaths, out of our 1,135 total fatalities countywide.

 

The county Health Department is currently working to trace close contacts of these newest cases. The investigations are still ongoing, and we will update the public with new developments as the information is gathered by our investigators.

Residents should also download the COVID Alert NJ mobile application on their Apple or Android device where they can view the latest information regarding COVID-19 in the state and be notified of potential exposures to the virus.
