New COVID-19 Cases Announced in Camden County

(Gloucester Township, NJ) – The Camden County Department of Health is announcing 83 additional confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in Camden County. This brings the aggregate number of confirmed positive cases to 40,966 in Camden County today and 1,109 total fatalities. 

 

“With St. Patrick’s Day typically an occasion for family and friends to gather and celebrate together, it is extremely important that we keep in mind the effects previous holidays have had on COVID-19 activity in our community,” said County Commissioner Director Louis Cappelli, Jr. “Even with vaccinations ramping up, the vast majority of our community remains vulnerable to this disease. If you are planning to observe tomorrow’s holiday, please do so safely while adhering to the public health measures that we know work like mask wearing, social distancing, and limiting gatherings to members of your immediate household, or a small group of fully vaccinated adults.”

 

The Department of Health is announcing 83 additional positive cases of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) identified in Camden County. Trace investigations are being facilitated with the patients and remain ongoing.

 

In addition, the county Department of Health is also announcing 2,318 confirmed resident cases and 1,322 staff cases have occurred out of the aggregate case load of 40,966 in our 56 long-term care facilities. At this time, 460 resident deaths have been reported from these facilities, as well as seven staff deaths, out of our 1,109 total fatalities countywide.

The county Health Department is currently working to trace close contacts of these newest cases. The investigations are still ongoing, and we will update the public with new developments as the information is gathered by our investigators.

Residents should also download the COVID Alert NJ mobile application on their Apple or Android device where they can view the latest information regarding COVID-19 in the state and be notified of potential exposures to the virus.
