New COVID-19 Cases Announced in Camden County

(Gloucester Township, NJ) – The Camden County Department of Health is announcing 356 additional confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) confirmed between Saturday, Feb. 27, and Monday, March 1. This brings the aggregate number of confirmed positive cases to 39,451 in Camden County today and 1,058 total fatalities. 

 

“The FDA’s approval of the Johnson and Johnson vaccine has the potential to be a game-changing inflection point in this pandemic,” said County Commissioner Director Louis Cappelli, Jr. “Having another available vaccine will help meet demand, increase the size of the population we are able to vaccinate, and speed our vaccine rollout considerably. Like other diseases, we will never completely eradicate COVID-19, but by dramatically reducing its ability to cause severe illness and death, we can stop it from affecting our daily lives as it has for the last year.”

 

The Department of Health is announcing 356 additional positive cases of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) identified in Camden County. Trace investigations are being facilitated with the patients and remain ongoing.

 

In addition, the county Department of Health is also announcing 2,306 confirmed resident cases and 1,311 staff cases have occurred out of the aggregate case load of 39,451 in our 56 long-term care facilities. At this time, 459 resident deaths have been reported from these facilities, as well as seven staff deaths, out of our 1,058 total fatalities countywide.
