(Gloucester Township, NJ) – As our community prepares for an unprecedented effort to administer the COVID-19 vaccine to hundreds of thousands of residents in 2021, the Camden County Department of Health is seeking registered nurses, licensed practical nurses and medical professionals to support this once-in-a-century undertaking. All candidates for this task must have active licenses and certifications for facilitating and deploying vaccines.
“Next year’s challenges will be much different than this year’s, but coordinating and executing the administration of this vaccine will be our highest priority,” said Freeholder Director Louis Cappelli, Jr. “We have been inspired throughout the pandemic by the number of residents who have reached out to volunteer and support their community in various ways. When this crisis is finally over, we will owe an incredible debt of gratitude to our medical professionals and first responders. They were heroes in the first days of COVID-19 infections, and they will continue to be heroes until the last vaccination is given.”
Proper staffing levels will be a critical part of the county’s vaccination efforts. Part time and seasonal staff will be assisting and playing an active role at the vaccination sites and to administer the vaccination to residents.
“This is a nationwide effort to bring this insidious disease, that has wrought so much death and destruction, to an end,” Cappelli continued. “We are asking, out of sense of duty to the county, state and country, that if you have the ability to help us please contact our public health professionals and join our team.”
If you are qualified and interested in joining this effort, please call the Camden County Department of Health and Human Services at (856) 374-6000, or by visiting here.
