(Voorhees, NJ) – The Camden County Department of Public Works (DPW) is preparing to make significant improvements to the stretch of Avondale Avenue (CR646) in Haddon Township. The road will receive repairs and improvements between Hopkins Road and Woodland Avenue beginning later this month.

“Improving county roads, bridges, and infrastructure is one of the most effective ways to improve the safety and well-being of Camden County residents,” said Freeholder Susan Shin Angulo, liaison to the Department of Public Works. “Avondale Avenue operates much more like a residential road than a thoroughfare for the county, so our engineers worked extremely closely with the township to ensure that this project was completed with local concerns front and center.”

The approximately $1.4 million project, which is scheduled to begin on Monday, May 13, will include a restoration of the roadway, storm drainage improvements, and a complete replacement of most curbs and driveway aprons.

The project is expected to take approximately 75 days to complete. Timing is dependent on weather and is subject to change. To follow this project, and all of the Department’s other ongoing projects in Camden County, visit https://www.camdencounty.com/service/public-works/current-projects/.
