(Lindenwold, NJ) – Freeholder Barbara Holcomb, has been notified by South Jersey Gas that crews will be renewing a gas main on Haddon Avenue in Berlin Township tonight, Wednesday, Sept. 30. The project is expected to require the full closure of Haddon Avenue between Veterans Avenue and Franklin Avenue.

“Even overnight closures can impact traffic throughout the area, so it is important for motorists to be aware of this project and to be extra vigilant when driving through or near the construction zone,” Holcomb said. “Whenever you are driving near road projects, you should expect additional traffic, sudden stops and possible congestion while crews are at work. You should also remain especially alert for crews, vehicles, or debris which may end up in the roadway.”

Beginning at 8 p.m. tonight, crews will close Haddon Avenue between Veterans Avenue and Franklin Avenue. The roadway will reopen at 5 a.m. A posted detour route will guide motorists around the affected area.

This project is scheduled to be completed by 5 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 1. Scheduling and project timing is dependent on weather and may be adjusted due to unforeseen events.
