In light of the horrific acts of carnage that occurred in the Spring Hill neighborhood of Pittsburgh yesterday the Freeholder Board, working, with congregation Nafshenu’s Rabbi Larry Sernovitz, Imam John Starling, Pastor Heyward Wiggins and Father John Bohrer, will be hosting a vigil at the Camden County Boathouse. The boathouse is located on the banks of the Cooper River in Cooper River Park offering a place for those mourning the savage acts of hate that occurred at the Tree of Life congregation.

Freeholder Jeffrey Nash talked about the importance of coming together and unifying as a community.
“As a former board member of the Jewish Federation of Southern New Jersey and a current advisory board member of Jewish Family and Children Services I am appalled by this savage crime of hate,” Nash said. “During a recent visit to Poland last month, my wife and I visited the Nazi death camp of Auschwitz. At this memorial to the Holocaust I saw the results of anti-Semitic behavior at its worst possible apex. Today’s event provides a stark reminder to that hallowed ground where millions of Jews were murdered and the work we still need to do as a community to ensure it never happens again.”
