(Camden, NJ) – Commissioner Al Dyer, liaison to the Camden County Department of Public Works, has been notified by NJ American Water that crews will be performing an emergency manhole frame and grate repair on East State Street in Camden on Thursday, July 8, between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. The project will require a complete closure of East State Street near the intersection with North 20th Street.

“Any time a roadway is closed to traffic, motorists should expect possible delays and congestion in the surrounding area,” Dyer said. “Always remain extra vigilant when driving through or around active road crews. Be on the lookout for sudden stops, construction vehicles, and any debris that may end up in the roadway.”

A posted detour route will guide motorists around the impacted area. Scheduling and project timing are dependent on weather and may be adjusted due to unforeseen events.
