Eight New COVID-19 Caused Deaths Announced in Camden County

(Gloucester Township, NJ) – The Camden County Department of Health (DOH) is announcing eight new deaths caused by novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in Camden County, as well as 88 additional cases of the disease. This brings the aggregate number of confirmed positive cases to 40,222 in Camden County today and 1,087 total fatalities.

“It is with great sadness that we announce the death of eight additional members of our community due to COVID-19. The victims and their families remain in our thoughts and prayers as we enter the second year of this pandemic,” said County Commissioner Director Louis Cappelli, Jr.  “More than 145,000 Camden County residents have now received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine. It is extremely important that everyone familiarize themselves with the CDC’s latest guidelines for vaccinated people and continue to take the advice of public health experts seriously. We can prevent additional loss of life if we keep fighting until everyone is vaccinated.”

 

The Department of Health is announcing 88 additional positive cases of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) identified in Camden County. Trace investigations are being facilitated with the patients and remain ongoing.

 

In addition, the county Department of Health is also announcing 2,316 confirmed resident cases and 1,319 staff cases have occurred out of the aggregate case load of 40,222 in our 56 long-term care facilities. At this time, 460 resident deaths have been reported from these facilities, as well as seven staff deaths, out of our 1,087 total fatalities countywide.

The county Health Department is currently working to trace close contacts of these newest cases. The investigations are still ongoing, and we will update the public with new developments as the information is gathered by our investigators.
