In honor of Public Health Week, the Board of Commissioners hosted a gun storage presentation called BeSMART for Kids: Safe Storage Saves Lives. The presentation aims to educate adults, gun owners and non-gun owners, about the importance of normalizing the conversation of safe storage.
“Safe gun storage saves lives, and it is an essential element to responsible gun ownership,” said Commissioner Virginia Betteridge, liaison to the Department of Health and Human Services. “And for those who do not own guns, it is important to know how to talk to others about safe gun storage because your child could enter the home of a friend or relative who do own them. We are starting the conversation here in Camden County and we could not think of a better time to do so than at the beginning of Public Health Week.”
