The statement below is by Commissioner Director Louis Cappelli Jr. on behalf of the Board of Commissioners regarding the passing of Sonny DiSabato, Pennsauken’s senior coordinator and monthly Senior Corner columnist for All Around Pennsauken.
“The Board of Commissioners is devastated to hear of the passing of Sonny DiSabato. He was a staple in the Pennsauken community, serving as the township’s senior coordinator for nearly two decades. Sonny was also a long serving president for the Camden County Municipal Coordinators on Aging Association and wrote a weekly, senior-focused column for All Around Pennsauken. Additionally, Sonny would often visit senior citizens in assisted living homes who were unable to go to the township building in person to bring them up to speed with what was going on in Pennsauken. In everything that Sonny did, he always put others first. His passion and love for giving back to his community, especially the elderly residents in his community, was immeasurable and was driving force behind his long career in public service.
Sonny’s contributions to Pennsauken, Camden County and beyond will never be forgotten and his legacy will live on through those he impacted. He has left large shoes to fill and our thoughts and prayers are with his family right now in their most difficult time.”
