The 38th Annual FFA Flower Show and Competition sponsored by the Ornamental Horticulture students at Camden Technical Schools’ Gloucester Township Campus is returning to the Deptford Mall. Students from Southern and Central New Jersey schools will demonstrate their talents as they compete for ribbons in over 20 categories.
“There’s nothing better after a cold stretch in January than a dose of spring warmth and the smell of flowers,” said Freeholder Carmen Rodriguez, liaison to CCTS. “The Flower Show is an excellent display of the work of dozens of creative students and the skills they’ve learned at Camden County Technical Schools.”
The show will feature as many as 200 entries, ranging from bridal bouquets and boutonnieres to newborn arrangements, from potted flowering plants to dish gardens, all made by students.
Judging will take place the morning of Jan. 25. Awards will be distributed at noon in over 21 categories including silk flowers, fresh flowers and live plants.
Members of the media have also been invited to Camden Technical Schools on Jan. 24 to take photos and/or speak with students about preparing themselves and their work for the show.
