(Voorhees, NJ) – Every year, to celebrate Black History Month, the Camden County Library System hosts workshops, book clubs, discussions and more, for both youth and adults to learn about the rich culture and history of Black people in America.

“Black History Month was established in 1976 to celebrate and recognize the immense achievements and impact Black people have had on our society throughout history. It also serves as a time to honor the immeasurable struggles we have had to face to make it to where we are now,” Commissioner Jonathan Young said. “Knowledge is power; and staying educated and connected to the history of African Americans will help us move forward into a brighter future. I am thrilled to announce all that the library has to offer this month and I encourage everyone to attend these events.”
