(Lindenwold, NJ) – Freeholder Susan Shin Angulo, liaison to the Camden County Department of Public Works, has been notified by NJ American Water that crews will be revisiting the site of a newly-installed water main on Broadway in Camden starting Wednesday, August 29. During this time, Broadway will close from Dr. Martin Luther King Drive to Stevens Street.

“This is the same closure and detour that was in place earlier this month when crews were out to replace that water main in Camden,” said Freeholder Susan Shin Angulo, liaison to the Camden County Department of Public Works. “Motorists should expect the same traffic patterns, congestion, and necessary detours as when that project was underway. When driving through the construction area, everyone has to be mindful of sudden stops and remain extra vigilant of additional hazards.”

Beginning Wednesday, crews will be performing disinfection, bacteria testing, and tie-ins on the newly installed water main between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. During this time, the affected strip of roadway will be closed. Motorists will be directed to utilize Haddon Avenue and 7th Street in order to circumvent the construction area.

This project is expected to be completed on Friday, August 31. Scheduling and project timing is also dependent on weather and may be adjusted due to unforeseen events.
