An Ozone Action Day has been declared for Friday, July 16th. The ozone is forecast to reach the unhealthy for sensitive groups category for locations along the I-95 corridor and portions of central New Jersey. Sensitive individuals, including the very young, the elderly, and persons with respiratory diseases such as asthma, should avoid strenuous activities during the afternoon and early evening hours. Mostly sunny skies, southwesterly winds, and hot temperatures are expected for Friday as high pressure remains in control. Meanwhile, levels of fine particle concentrations will once again reach the moderate category along the I-95 corridor.
