On Wednesday, the Board of Commissioners joined Camden City Mayor Victor Carstarphen and U.S. Senator Cory Booker to lead a community cleanup in Camden’s Liberty Park and Centerville neighborhoods.

Now in its second year, the city’s Camden Strong initiative focuses on the implementation of a series of targeted activities aimed at improving community health and quality of life by combating illegal dumping, demolishing unsafe structures, enhancing public safety efforts, and responding to nuisance concerns impacting the Camden community.

“Improving the quality of life for our residents is of top priority to the Board of Commissioners and our partners,” said Commissioner Al Dyer. “We’re proud to collaborate with city officials and Senator Booker to continue providing Camden City residents with the clean and safe community spaces that they deserve.”

The next neighborhood cleanup event is scheduled for Wednesday, Aug. 24, in the Whitman Park neighborhood. Those interested in volunteering for Mayor Vic Carstarphen’s Clean Camden Campaign events can contact the City of Camden by calling (856) 757-7200 or emailing camdenclean@ci.camden.nj.us
