(Gloucester Township, NJ) – The Camden County Department of Health is announcing 88 new positive cases of COVID-19, bringing the aggregate number of confirmed positive cases in Camden County to 55,656 and 1,273 total fatalities.
Of today’s 88 new cases, 18 are among patients under 18 years old. The average age of the newly infected is 35 years old.

“Over the last five days we are averaging 121 new cases of COVID-19 each day. Additionally, hospitalizations in our region have increased in the last week to around 7%. At last count, more than 400 area residents are in area hospitals, which is still extremely high from where we were back in the beginning of July,” said County Commissioner Director Louis Cappelli, Jr. “The pandemic is not over. If you still haven’t done so, get your vaccine now.”
To date, 333,221 Camden County residents have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, while 300,830 are fully vaccinated. More information regarding vaccination rates throughout the county and available on the state’s COVID-19 dashboard at covid19.nj.gov.
The county Health Department is continuing to closely track new cases of COVID-19 and information regarding the prevalence of the Delta variant. New cases are often reassigned to other municipalities over the course of an investigation.
