Rebekah Barnhardt
Audubon High School

Favorite High School Memory: One of my best high school memories happened freshman year during cross country season. With lots of underclassman on the team who didn’t know what we were doing, my coach had his hands full. However, with lots of hard work and determination we all came together to place 5th at Sectionals. This secured us a spot to compete at the State level and it was the first time in decades that the Audubon Girl’s Cross Country Team qualified to compete there. From there we managed to qualify for states each of the next three years (despite the setbacks from the pandemic this year).

Favorite High School Memory: Theres a lot, I always enjoyed conversations with teachers and students. I just loved talking with people and learning about them and their lives. Favorite High School Memory: I have a lot of great memories that I will cherish, but the first one that comes to mind is going to Six Flags for the holiday festivities with my friends during the Renaissance trip. Riding on the roller coasters and just hanging out in our friend group was fun and exhilarating. Even now, reminiscing about my friends’ screams for their mothers amidst the roaring wind on the exciting, thrilling roller coasters still manages to bring a smile to my face every time.

Favorite High School Memory: My best high school memory is my junior year service trip. My classmates and I spent three days and two nights serving the community in Camden. We visited with young students at a local elementary school, helped to distribute food and clothing to the homeless, and cleaned up a playground and a park. We also visited Joseph’s House homeless shelter and spent time listening to people in recovery from addiction.
