17 New COVID-19 Caused Deaths Announced in Camden County

(Gloucester Township, NJ) – The Camden County Department of Health (DOH) is announcing 17 new deaths caused by novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in Camden County, as well as 220 additional cases of the disease. This brings the aggregate number of confirmed positive cases to 24,932 in Camden County and 692 total fatalities.

“Today we learned of 17 additional tragic deaths in Camden County caused by COVID-19. Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families as they navigate this unimaginably difficult period,” said Freeholder Director Louis Cappelli, Jr. “Please remember as we head into the holidays that this pandemic is still extremely dangerous and active in our community. We are still losing people every day to this virus. This year, it is imperative that we do not hold indoor parties, gatherings, or other celebrations. This is the only way to protect the people we care about until the vaccine is more widely available.”

                                                                    

The Department of Health is announcing 220 additional positive cases of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) identified in Camden County. Trace investigations are being facilitated with the patients and remain ongoing.

 

In addition, the county Department of Health is also announcing 1,837 confirmed resident cases and 928 staff cases have occurred out of the aggregate case load of 24,932 in our 56 long-term care facilities. At this time, 366 resident deaths have been reported from these facilities, as well as three staff deaths, out of our 692 total fatalities countywide.

The county Health Department is currently working to trace close contacts of these newest cases. The investigations are still ongoing, and we will update the public with new developments as the information is gathered by our investigators.

Residents should also download the COVID Alert NJ mobile application on their Apple or Android device where they can view the latest information regarding COVID-19 in the state and be notified of potential exposures to the virus.
