10 New COVID-19 Caused Deaths Announced in Camden County

(Gloucester Township, NJ) – The Camden County Department of Health (DOH) is announcing 10 new deaths caused by novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in Camden County, as well as 127 additional cases of the disease. This brings the aggregate number of confirmed positive cases to 39,578 in Camden County today and 1,068 total fatalities.

“We are deeply saddened to announce the death of 10 additional residents of Camden County due to COVID-19. The victims and their families are in our thoughts and prayers,” said County Commissioner Director Louis Cappelli, Jr. “With so much news surrounding new vaccines and expanded eligibility beginning later this month, it bears repeating how important it is that everyone get the vaccine as soon as they are eligible and able to. The vaccines are safe, effective, and critical to our ability to move forward and out of this pandemic.”

 

The Department of Health is announcing 127 additional positive cases of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) identified in Camden County. Trace investigations are being facilitated with the patients and remain ongoing.

 

In addition, the county Department of Health is also announcing 2,308 confirmed resident cases and 1,312 staff cases have occurred out of the aggregate case load of 39,578 in our 56 long-term care facilities. At this time, 459 resident deaths have been reported from these facilities, as well as seven staff deaths, out of our 1,068 total fatalities countywide.

The county Health Department is currently working to trace close contacts of these newest cases. The investigations are still ongoing, and we will update the public with new developments as the information is gathered by our investigators.
