Crews will be standing up the concert stage at Wiggins Waterfront Park in preparation for socially distanced summer concerts at the venue. The Camden County Parks Department did not hold any concerts at the park in 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic, but is preparing for the return of entertainment events thanks to increased outdoor capacity limits and the availability of vaccinations.
“We are extremely excited to bring concerts back to Wiggins Park and to provide our residents with a much-needed dose of fun and relaxation,” said County Commissioner Jeff Nash, liaison to the Parks Department. “While we don’t know exactly what the pandemic will look like come June, we feel confident at this time that we will be able to bring back concert-goers in a reduced capacity.”
Under restrictions put in place by Governor Phil Murphy, outdoor events are limited to 30 percent of venue capacity. If these restrictions remain in place at the start of the concert season, Wiggins Park would still be capable of hosting approximately 1,500 participants.
