Camden County’s Department of Public Safety is comprised of the Office of the Fire Marshal, Office of Emergency Management, and County-wide Communications Center. The Department of Public Safety also encompasses the Regional Emergency Training Center, a Joint Operations Center, and the Community Emergency Response Team.
Highway Traffic Safety
The Division of Highway Traffic Safety develops and implements programs in Camden County designed to educate and encourage children and adults to practice traffic safety. Community Emergency Response Team The purpose of Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) is to train people living in the community to take care of themselves, their families and their neighbors in the event of a disaster. Regional Emergency Training Center The Regional Emergency Training Center (RETC) is a state-of-the-art, environmentally safe site that serves firefighters, emergency medical technicians and other public safety personnel and houses the Camden County Fire Academy and Camden County Police Academy. Office of Emergency Management
The Camden County Office of Emergency Management is responsible for maintaining and enforcing the New Jersey state disaster laws and coordinating the efforts of local agencies and organizations during a disaster or natural emergency. The Camden County Office of the Fire Marshal is charged with conducting fire investigations in the County of Camden where arson is suspected or a death occurs. The Office also serves as fire code enforcement advisor to the municipalities in the County of Camden.
