Rutgers–Camden Board of Directors Appoints Two New Members to Serve on the Joint Board

(Camden, NJ) – The Rutgers–Camden Board of Directors formally appointed two new members on Friday to serve on the Rowan University/Rutgers–Camden Board of Governors. Between them, Dr. James Dougherty and Frank Hundley bring decades of experience in medicine and administration.

Dr. James Dougherty joins the board with more than 30 years of experience in veterinary medicine, having co-founded Metropolitan Veterinary Associates in Valley Forge, Pennsylvania, in 1986. The veterinary hospital was the first multi-specialty referral hospital in the Philadelphia suburbs and is now a 24/7 specialty, emergency and critical care practice. Dougherty is the new Chair of the Rutgers Board of Trustees (BOT), having previously served as Vice Chair for 2018-2019, and is the new chair of the Rutgers University–Camden Board of Directors, having previously served as Vice Chair for 2018-2019. He has served on the BOT Diversity and Inclusion committee and the Board of Governors Finance and Facilities Committee. Dougherty is also a member of the Board of Overseers, the SAS Dean’s Advisory Council, Tyler Clementi Center Advisory Board, and the Development Committee of the Rutgers University Press. 

Frank Hundley, a certified financial planner and a chartered retirement planning counselor, is the Vice President of Wealth Management for Janney Montgomery Scott LLC, where he leads the Hundley McGovern Wealth Management group. He joined Janney Montgomery Scott in 2016 after more than fourteen years with Merrill Lynch and Morgan Stanley. Hundley currently serves on the Rutgers Board of Governors, Camden Board of Directors, and is an Emeritus member of the Board of Trustees, where he served as Chair from 2015 to 2016. Hundley was also an ex-officio member of the Board of Overseers. He holds an MBA in administration from the University of California-Berkeley.
