Roadwork to Close Down Major Intersection in Camden

(Camden, NJ) – Due to continuing roadwork, the intersection of Linden Street and 7th Street will be closed from 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Thursday and Friday. Access to the Ben Franklin Bridge Westbound will not be possible from 7thStreet/downtown Camden during work hours.   

 

“This is a major thruway into the city that thousands of motorists utilize every day,” said Commissioner Al Dyer, liaison to the Department of Public Works. “Motorists should take alternate routes, give themselves plenty of time to get to their destinations and consider taking public transportation for the duration of the closure.”

 

Detours and traffic control will be in place and access into North Camden off of Linden Street will be available by 8th and 10th streets.

 

Alternate routes include:

 

From downtown Camden to Ben Franklin Bridge Westbound:

  • Federal Street to (right on) Flanders Ave, (right onto Rt 30 WB ramp)
  • MLK Blvd. to 11th Street/Flanders Ave., (left onto) Rt 30 WB ramp

 

From US 30 Westbound to downtown Camden:

  • 17th Street to (left on) Federal Street
  • MLK Blvd/Campbell’s Place exit
  • Linden Street to (left on) 10th Street (south) to (right on) Market Street

 

From 676 North to downtown Camden:

  • Exit 4 (Atlantic Ave/Kaighns Ave) – Atlantic Ave to Broadway
  • Exit 5A (MLK Blvd/Campbell’s Place)

 

 

Alternate routes include:

 

From downtown Camden to Ben Franklin Bridge Westbound:

  • Federal Street to (right on) Flanders Ave, (right onto Rt 30 WB ramp)
  • MLK Blvd. to 11th Street/Flanders Ave., (left onto) Rt 30 WB ramp

 

From US 30 Westbound:

From 676 North:

The Camden County Department of Public Works is responsible for maintaining over 1,200 miles of county roadway and 50 bridges.  They are dedicated to making our area safer for motorists and pedestrians through county highway construction projects and road maintenance, including pothole repairs, street sweeping, grass cutting and storm drainage upkeep. The Public Works Department is located in Lindenwold where personnel are on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to serve the residents of Camden County.
