(Camden, NJ) – Rite Aid is expanding its COVID-19 testing sites with new locations throughout the country opening Monday, April 20, including at its store in Barrington Borough. The testing site is made possible by a partnership between Rite Aid and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). The address of the location is 501 Clements Bridge Road.

The site will be open for testing from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., seven days a week, and expects to be able to conduct approximately 200 tests each day.

Camden County Freeholder Director, Louis Cappelli Jr., talked about the importance of testing for the community and the service Rite Aid is providing.

“Expanding COVID-19 testing is critical to our response to this pandemic. Without smart data we cannot not combat this virus and are blind to its impact on our community,” Cappelli said. “I want to thank Rite Aid for stepping up to the plate and creating another outlet for testing in our county and the region. Moving forward on Monday, this store site will compliment the county’s two other mobile test sites and the hard work being done by our primary healthcare providers.”

All Rite Aid drive-up COVID-19 testing locations will utilize self-swab nasal tests overseen by Rite Aid pharmacists. Testing eligibility is based on guidelines established by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), which can be found here.

Testing will take place in the store’s parking lot. As part of the testing process, individuals must remain in their vehicles from the time they arrive and until they depart.

Testing will be available at no cost to eligible individuals who meet criteria established by the CDC. Patients are required to provide government issued identification, be at least 18 years old and need to pre-register online at www.riteaid.com in order to schedule a time slot for testing.

“Testing is critical to our response in combatting this virus. We want to thank Rite Aid for their continued commitment to our community and for bringing more much-needed testing to South Jersey,” said Barrington Mayor Patti Harris. “The storefront will remain open for customers, however Rite Aid will not allow anyone seeking testing to be permitted inside, in order to prevent further spread of the virus. Our foremost priority remains the safety and wellbeing of our residents as we navigate this public health crisis.”

Rite Aid has partnered with Verilyand will use its Baseline COVID-19 Program to provide screening, scheduling, and return of results to participants for Rite-Aid testing sites.

Rite Aid also selected BioReference Laboratories to provide COVID-19 laboratory testing to all drive-up locations with the goal of flattening the curve through accessible diagnostic testing.

Clinical oversight for the COVID-19 testing program is provided by PWNHealth, a national clinician network that enables safe and easy access to diagnostic testing.

Rite Aid will continue to provide regular updates on the company’s progress with COVID-19 testing.
