(Lindenwold, NJ) – Freeholder Susan Shin Angulo, liaison to the Camden County Department of Public Works, has been notified by American Water Contractors that crews will be performing an emergency sewer repair on Newton Avenue today in Camden. The repairs will require Newton Avenue to be fully closed between South 10th Street and Haddon Avenue.
“Until this repair is completed, we’re anticipating a total closure of the roadway between South 10th Street and Haddon Avenue,” Shin Angulo said. “Motorists should be aware that there is not currently a timetable for completion, and the closure will likely slow traffic along nearby routes as well. As with any time crews are at work, motorists should exhibit extra caution when in the construction area, and be mindful of shifting traffic patterns and sudden stops.”
The closure will be in effect until the repairs are completed. Scheduling and project timing is dependent on weather and may be adjusted due to unforeseen events.
