(Gloucester Township, NJ) – The Camden County Department of Health is announcing 38 additional confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in Camden County. This brings the aggregate number of confirmed positive cases to 8,819 in Camden County today and 538 total fatalities.
“We can’t afford to ignore the trends that we’re seeing: our average number of new cases per day is back to where it was at the beginning of June and trending upwards,” said Freeholder Director Louis Cappelli, Jr. “This virus is still extremely active in our community and we have to take this threat seriously. No one should be attending large gatherings. Everyone needs to wear a mask when they are in public and maintain social distancing. We are not impervious to this virus because we were hit hard in the beginning and recovered. If we don’t become more stringent in following these public health guidelines then more people will get sick, we will lose more lives, and our state’s economy will suffer another devastating blow.”
The Department of Health is announcing 38 additional positive cases of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) identified in Camden County. Trace investigations are being facilitated with the patients and remain ongoing.
In addition, the county Department of Health is also announcing 1,342 confirmed resident cases and 510 staff cases have occurred out of the aggregate case load of 8,781 in our 56 long-term care facilities. At this time, 311 resident deaths have been reported from these facilities, as well as three staff deaths, out of our 538 total fatalities countywide.
