New COVID-19 Cases Announced in Camden County

(Gloucester Township, NJ) – The Camden County Department of Health is announcing 56 additional confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in Camden County. This brings the aggregate number of confirmed positive cases to 8,781 in Camden County today and 538 total fatalities. 

 

“Across the country, as well as here in New Jersey, we are seeing increased transmission and contraction of coronavirus among young people in their teens and 20s,” said Freeholder Director Louis Cappelli, Jr. “We can’t beat this virus if only parts of our population are doing their part. We need everybody to stay home as much as possible, wear a mask, and social distance. One day we will be able to come together again for parties and large gatherings, but right now we have to make small sacrifices to protect our community.”

 

The Department of Health is announcing 56 additional positive cases of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) identified in Camden County. Trace investigations are being facilitated with the patients and remain ongoing.

 

In addition, the county Department of Health is also announcing 1,342 confirmed resident cases and 510 staff cases have occurred out of the aggregate case load of 8,781 in our 56 long-term care facilities. At this time, 311 resident deaths have been reported from these facilities, as well as three staff deaths, out of our 538 total fatalities countywide.
