New COVID-19 Cases Announced in Camden County

(Gloucester Township, NJ) – The Camden County Department of Health is announcing 52 additional confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in Camden County. This brings the aggregate number of confirmed positive cases to 48,974 in Camden County today and 1,190 total fatalities. 

 

“After a long winter, we are finally seeing a sustained drop in new COVID-19 cases and deaths thanks to warmer weather and increasingly widespread vaccinations,” said County Commissioner Director Louis Cappelli, Jr. “We can maintain this progress in the long term if we get everyone vaccinated. If you haven’t been vaccinated yet, now is the time to do it. If you have already been vaccinated, make sure you’re spreading the word about how safe and easy the process was.”

 

The Department of Health is announcing 52 additional positive cases of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) identified in Camden County. Trace investigations are being facilitated with the patients and remain ongoing.

 

To date, 450,633 COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered in Camden County. There are 255,563 people with at least one vaccine dose, and 213,856 people who are fully vaccinated.

In addition, the county Department of Health is also announcing 2,357 confirmed resident cases and 1,384 staff cases have occurred out of the aggregate case load of 48,974 in our 56 long-term care facilities. At this time, 462 resident deaths have been reported from these facilities, as well as seven staff deaths, out of our 1,190 total fatalities countywide.

 

The county Health Department is currently working to trace close contacts of these newest cases. The investigations are still ongoing, and we will update the public with new developments as the information is gathered by our investigators.
