New COVID-19 Cases Announced in Camden County

(Gloucester Township, NJ) – The Camden County Department of Health is announcing 277 additional confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) confirmed between Saturday, March 6, and Monday, March 8. This brings the aggregate number of confirmed positive cases to 40,134 in Camden County today and 1,079 total fatalities. 

 

“This weekend marked one year since the first case of COVID-19 was discovered in Camden County, thereby kicking off a global crisis unlike anything most of us had experienced in our lifetimes,” said County Commissioner Director Louis Cappelli, Jr. “Fortunately, we can confidently say that we are in a better place today than we have been since March 6, 2020. New cases and deaths have dropped significantly since January, and the rate of vaccinations is increasing every day. While we may not be able to return to normal quite yet, we are finally making meaningful progress towards that end.”

 

The Department of Health is announcing 277 additional positive cases of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) identified in Camden County. Trace investigations are being facilitated with the patients and remain ongoing.

 

In addition, the county Department of Health is also announcing 2,316 confirmed resident cases and 1,319 staff cases have occurred out of the aggregate case load of 40,134 in our 56 long-term care facilities. At this time, 460 resident deaths have been reported from these facilities, as well as seven staff deaths, out of our 1,079 total fatalities countywide.
