(Lindenwold, NJ) – County Commissioner Al Dyer, liaison to the Camden County Department of Public Works, has been notified by South Jersey Gas that a plastic main was damaged during a pole installation performed by Verizon. Crews are currently onsite to repair the main, requiring the closure of Laurel Road between Stone Road and Pennsylvania Avenue.

“Crews expect to have this main repaired later this evening, but traffic will stay detoured until that work is complete,” Dyer said. “Motorists should be aware of this project and how it may affect their commute. If you cannot avoid the area, stay especially vigilant for sudden stops, shifting traffic patterns, and crews, vehicles, or debris that may end up in the roadway.”

Crews expect repairs to be completed between 8 p.m. and 9 p.m., however timing is dependent on weather and other factors and may be adjusted due to unforeseen events.
