The statement below is by Freeholder Director Louis Cappelli Jr. on behalf of the Freeholder Board regarding the death of Joe Murphy.
“On behalf of the Camden County Freeholder Board, I offer our most heartfelt condolences to the Murphy family. Joe was a teacher and a mentor to countless young men and women in Camden County, helping to prepare them for adulthood as an instructor and coach. He continued to serve his community and impact the lives of young students well after his retirement, serving as a member of the Camden County Hall of Fame Executive Committee. Joe Murphy’s name will forever be associated with his accomplishments in athletics, but his legacy will be the lives of young athletes and students who were shaped by his compassion, generosity, and selflessness.”
