(Blackwood, NJ) – Homeward Bound Pet Adoption Center is inviting the public to enter their pets in an online Halloween photo contest to help raise funds for shelter pets. The first-place winner will receive a pet photo shoot with Kat Lucille Photography and the first and second runners up will receive a goodie bag with prizes for their pet.

“We encourage all of our pet owning residents to submit photos of their furry friends,” said Commissioner Jon Young. “This is a fun way to get into the Halloween spirit and a chance to win great prizes, all for a good cause”

The contest is open now and photos can be submitted. Voting runs through October 30. For more information or to enter a pet into the contest go to: www.gogophotocontest.com/homewardboundpetadoptioncenter?fbclid=IwAR2EQsaOuh788NcdRNtsdDSOxMsSFiYJJZQCqFbWrcZFejq00sGfHbffUQc

Homeward Bound will also be offering $10 adoption fees for the next two weeks as the shelter continues to struggle with an influx of dogs and cats.

“We’re having a hard time ensuring that we have room for all of the cats and dogs that are coming through the door,” said Lysa Boston, executive director of the shelter. “This is a special pricing for a limited period to find forever homes for all our furry friends. We hope residents will open their homes and their hearts to add a new member of their family.”

At the shelter, the cat intake is up 17% this year and the dog intake is up 15% over the previous year. The shelter is currently caring for more than 140 dogs and 400 cats.
