(Camden, NJ) – Governor Murphy has recommended the cancellation of all public gatherings of more than 250 people, including parades, concerts, and sporting events.

“This is a clear recommendation for our residents and event organizers from the state’s chief executive, social distancing is the most effective way to reduce and prevent the spread of coronavirus throughout our state and our region,” said Freeholder Director Louis Cappelli, Jr. “The Freeholder Board is implementing plans to follow this recommendation and strongly urges private event organizers in Camden County to follow the governor’s recommendation as well. We can prevent the spread of coronavirus if we work together and follow the advice of experts in this field.”

In addition to social distancing, the best way to prevent the spread and contraction of coronavirus is practicing good personal hygiene:

  • Wash your hands thoroughly, and often, with soap and water for 20 seconds;
  • Stay home when you’re sick;
  • Avoid contact with others who are sick;
  • Cover your coughs and sneezes with a tissue; and
  • Clean frequently touched surfaces and objects.
